Stagecoach East has launched a new ‘community-inspired’ campaign to celebrate its local passengers and spotlight the firm’s role within the local community.
The ‘Because of the Bus’ campaign features real passengers from Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and showcases how Stagecoach’s services make a difference to people’s everyday lives. It shares stories from passengers, highlighting the different ways the operator supports locals on a daily basis. Darren Roe, Managing Director of Stagecoach East, said: “We love hearing from our passengers about the positive difference bus travel makes to them, so it’s wonderful to be able to bring those stories to life with our new Because of the Bus campaign. We are passionate about putting our customers first and are delighted to give them a voice through the initiative. I hope it will encourage more people to stay connected, reduce their carbon footprint and discover their local area safely using our services.”
Bedfordshire resident, Suella Oduka, who stars in the new campaign, said: “It’s been fantastic to take part in Stagecoach East’s ‘Because of the Bus’ campaign and showcase the ways in which the bus supports me on a daily basis. I rely on the bus to get to work and the Stagecoach app is so easy to use; it’s great for live updates on the buses and timetables. I simply couldn’t get around without the bus.”
Local radio presenter Tony Barnfield, who also features in the campaign, said: “Wherever I want to go, I can easily hop on a bus because there is always one going where I need to get to. For me, the bus is absolutely wonderful to get out and about and I recommend it to anyone. It’s the healthy and green way to travel.”
