Specialist coach insurance broker McCarron Coates has been announced as the ‘Commercial Lines Broker of the Year’ in the UK Broker Awards. The judges said that the Leeds-based insurance brokers and fleet transport specialists stood apart from other finalists, impressing them with their ‘unswerving dedication’ to their coach sector clients during the pandemic.
The firm’s ‘Wish You Could Hear’ campaign, which put pressure on MPs, urging them to hear the plight of the UK coach sector companies, which felt they were being overlooked in Covid-19 financial support packages, was highly praised; coach operators were furnished with an emotive postcard, depicting coach travel in its
heyday, complete with a message that highlighted the tribulations of the sector during lockdown, which could be used to lobby MPs using both hard copies and electronic copies made available by
McCarron Coates.
Despite the impacts the brokerage itself suffered due to Covid-19, McCarron Coates said that it continued to enjoy general growth.
This is the second national award of the year for the firm, which also won a National Insurance Award in July, when it was judged the Commercial Lines Specialist Broker of the Year. The team has also been a finalist in the British Insurance Awards this year and, in November 2019, scooped two national Insurance Times awards.
