Volvo Bus UK and Ireland has secured a significant order that will see it supply Park’s of Hamilton with its integral 9700 and 9900 premium coach models
Park’s of Hamilton is set to take delivery of 15 integral Volvo 9700 and 9900 coaches early in 2022, in an order which continues the strong relationship between the operator and Volvo Bus. However, these coaches represent the company’s first intake of Volvo’s complete coach offering.
The order includes nine PSVAR-compliant 9700s on B11R chassis with 53 seats, which will primarily be used on touring operations, but will offer the flexibility that Park’s says is essential to its diverse operating model.
The remaining six coaches will be high specification 9900s, also on the B11R chassis but in a mix of 13.1m and 13.9m lengths. With an upgrade of the Park’s of Hamilton Corporate/VIP/Elite Sports Team coach vehicles underway, plans are being made to refit the new coaches in order to meet the high standards that the firm says its corporate and sporting clients expect.
The vehicles will be supported by the Volvo North & Scotland dealership at Blantyre, which already supports Park’s of Hamilton’s day to day operations and current fleet.
Jennifer McGill, Regional Account Manager for Volvo Bus said: “This is a landmark order for a prestigious customer in the area and it’s a pleasure to work closely with Park’s of Hamilton, supporting them at every stage, ensuring exceptional service from order to delivery. The 9900 and the newly launched 9700 will be excellent additions to the Park’s fleet and I will be exceptionally proud to see them out on the road in 2022.”
Park’s of Hamilton Director Michael Andrews added: “These are very high-specification vehicles which further underline our commitment to providing luxurious and professional coach services for our customers. We look forward to putting them into operation in time for our customers to enjoy them during the 2022 season and beyond.”
