Switch Mobility is to supply a fleet of 12 Metrocity electric buses to London operator Tower Transit. The fleet of Metrocitys will be deployed on route 339, operating out of Lea Interchange and running between Shadwell and Leytonstone. It will be the first full electric bus route run out of Lea Interchange.
Tower Transit will be the first customer for the updated 9.4m Metrocity. Delivery of the vehicles is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2023. Switch said the contract further reinforces its position as a global technology leader, providing net zero carbon commercial mobility products and solutions that create outstanding value for all stakeholders.
