Scottish Citylink has launched its summer timetable, introducing additional services and more evening and overnight routes across the country. The new timetable includes almost 10,000 extra seats per week on West Coast routes and a new overnight service between Glasgow and Aberdeen. The operator said that its revised timetable will help provide alternative transport options to those affected by reduced rail services, and pledged to provide additional vehicles if needed to ensure it can meet demand as far as possible for its services.
The summer timetable, which is in place from May to September each year, delivers a host of extra services and additional journeys, providing vital links for passengers attending events or holidaying in Scotland. The changes include almost 10,000 extra seats per week available on the West Coast routes, between Glasgow and Fort William, Oban and Campbeltown, and between Inverness and Skye. The operator has introduced a new daily return journey between Glasgow and Oban, departing Glasgow at 1630hrs, with the return service leaving Oban at 2040hrs, increasing the daily service level between the two locations to six return journeys.
From the early morning of 2 June, a new overnight round trip will operate every night between Glasgow and Aberdeen. The service will leave Glasgow at 0030hrs and arrive in Aberdeen at 03:35. The return journey leaves Aberdeen at 0500hrs and arrives in Glasgow at 0750hrs.
