Operator AUVASA (Autobuses Urbanos de Valladolid) has signed an agreement with Irizar e-mobility for 30 Irizar ie Tram zero-emission buses and associated infrastructure. Delivery will be spread over two years, with the first 11 to be delivered in late 2022.

“We’re extremely proud of the trust that AUVASA and the city of Valladolid has put in us to start the electric transformation of their fleet. The Irizar ie Tram is a bus that, because of its modern and innovative design, gives the city a unique appeal at the same time it maximises comfort, accessibility and safety for drivers and passengers. The low CO2 and noise emissions and the great passenger experience make the ie Tram an especially suitable bus for using in urban centres.” said Txema Otero, Commercial Director for Spain and Portugal at Irizar e-mobility.

The vehicles will have a battery capacity of 630kWh and a double charging system, consisting of an inverted pantograph plus plug-in charging at the depot, manufactured by Jema Energy, an Irizar Group company.

The four-door ie Tram has 43 seats, three wheelchair spaces and four seats dedicated to persons of reduced mobility, with a total capacity for up to 105 passengers. The buses will have cameras instead of rear view mirrors, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), protection for pedestrians and cyclists, and internal CCTV.

Irizar will deliver 30 of the type in two batches. IRIZAR
