Following the news that that Diamond Bus Midlands was to undertake a service review and that a number of contracts in Warwickshire had come to an end, Stagecoach has confirmed that in addition to the services previously reported, it will operate Stratford-upon-Avon park & ride service 222, running every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday and on selected Sundays and Bank Holidays. In addition it will take on service X20 from Startford-upon-Avon to Solihull from 15 August. The new Warwickshire County Council contracts mean that Stagecoach Midlands has secured the routes for the next seven years.

Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director of Stagecoach Midlands said: “We very much look forward to welcoming new customers on board our buses. We’ve been working with Warwickshire County Council to provide the best possible service and with the rising price of fuel there’s never been a better time for people to try the bus.”

The contract gains make Stagecoach the dominant operator in Stratford-upon-Avon, reaffirming much predecessor Stratford Blue’s operating area. RICHARD SHARMAN
