Temsa introduced its new electric coach at this year’s IAA Transportation exhibition in Hannover. Unveiling what it said is Europe’s first electric coach, Temsa aims to increase the proportion of electric vehicles in its total production to 50% in three years with its new LD SB E.
Operating in partnership with Sabancı Holding and PPF Group, Temsa offers five electric bus models. Its latest LD SB E is available in 12 or 13 metre options and has a passenger capacity of up to 63. It is driven by a 250kW electric motor and offers three different battery capacity options: 210, 280 and 350kWh. Temsa says the range can reach up to 350 kilometres under ideal conditions, and charging can be completed in two hours with a 150kWh DC charger.
Speaking at the press launch, Temsa CEO Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu underlined that sustainability and digitalisation are the two main decisive trends in the automotive industry. He added: “At Temsa, we are one of the companies that recognised the sustainability and digitalisation-oriented transformation in our sector, at the earliest point. While we have been designing our business processes accordingly for many years, we prioritise the two issues by putting our customers at the centre. We support our sustainable growth and also fulfill our sustainability promises and targets by focusing on new opportunity points, particularly electrification. Our electric vehicle range is the most important indicator of the determination of Temsa on this journey. Today, we are one of the rare companies in the world that has launched five different electric vehicles ready for mass production in different segments. And today, we are also proud to unveil Europe’s first electric coach as a European company, with our LD SB E. If you want to go north, the easiest way is to follow the pole star. Our north is a more inhabitable, cleaner, and safer world. And our pole star is sustainability. We continue on our way determinedly on this journey. Accordingly, we aim to make one of every two vehicles out of our production facility electric in 2025.”
