For the first time since 2019 and the pandemic, visitors will be welcomed back to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham to see coaches, buses and products in the metal, and catch up with industry contacts. CBW provides a preview of the vehicles that will be on show at Euro Bus Expo
Alexander Dennis
Alexander Dennis (ADL) will have a comprehensive presence on its stand that will showcase the breadth of the company’s bus and coach range, including some new offerings.
Exhibits will include an exclusive preview of ADL’s next generation of zero-emission buses, which will launch in 2023 with a new small bus and a new electric double decker fully designed using the manufacturer’s in-house expertise. ADL says a new design language will give the new models unmistakable kerb appeal and will highlight their zero-emission credentials.
The new Enviro400FCEV second-generation hydrogen fuel cell bus has also been fully developed by Alexander Dennis and shares key driveline components with the upcoming next generation of electric buses. The Enviro400FCEV can travel for up to 300 miles on a single fill of hydrogen and takes as little as five minutes to refuel.
A BYD ADL Enviro200EV single deck electric bus for a major customer will also be on display, showing Alexander Dennis’s ability to tailor the specification of its buses to transport authorities and operators’ exact requirements.
Plaxton will also be represented by a Leopard coach built to meet PSV Accessibility Regulations with a side-mounted wheelchair lift and full destination display equipment. ADL says its Plaxton Leopard remains a leading entry-level coach, giving operators excellent value for money for school and contract hire work.
Visitors can explore the manufacturer’s AD24 aftermarket support in a dedicated area on the stand, where experts will be on hand to show how customers are fully supported at all times through AD24’s field service, spare parts service, workshops and training academy.
In the outdoor Zero Emission Zone, a BYD ADL Enviro400EV electric double decker will be available for test rides to demonstrate its smooth and quiet operation; over 1,000 BYD ADL electric buses already in service across the United Kingdom.
BASE Coach Sales
BASE Coach Sales says it is proud to return to the NEC with a client-driven expanded product line up from European partners MOBIpeople and Beulas, both of which have MAN and Scania chassis options with full UK and European aftersales support.
On display will be a 61-seat, 470bhp 13.7m Beulas Aura MAN RR4 for J&B Travel of West Yorkshire, which required a high seating capacity executive coach with large luggage capacity and PSVAR-compliance to support its growing programme of contract and private hire work.
The second vehicle is a next generation 320bhp Scania K320NB 12.5m MOBIpeople Explorer for Meadway Coaches of Birmingham, one of a pair of 74-seat fully PSVAR vehicles. These will be Meadway’s 6th and 7th MOBIpeople orders.
BASE will also launch a newly developed 12.5m MOBIpeople Premium 350 offering improved luggage capacity over the 330 model and fresh styling for the executive market. The show vehicle is on the next generation Scania K360NB 4×2 360bhp chassis with ZF automatic gearbox, whilst the interior specification of the PSVAR-compliant coach provides 57 seats with centre sunken toilet. This will be KB Coaches of Gloucestershire’s 17th MOBIpeople since its launch in 2014.
