A social media post by Tockwith, York-based Connexions Buses went viral recently thanks to a bus lane penalty charge notice issued by Leeds City Council. Former Cardiff Bus Scania CN57 BHZ was captured by the council’s bus lane cameras using – somewhat unsurprisingly – the bus lane during the hours of bus lane operation. The post was shared over 600 times and made it into the Metro newspaper as well as onto various social media news pages. A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said: “The ticket was issued in error and has now been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
