Volvo-owned North American manufacturer Prevost has rolled out a redesigned H3-45 which it says offers up to 12% greater fuel efficiency than its predecessor, 50% less noise in the driver’s area, and 40% brighter LED headlights.

The 13.7-metre (45 foot) coach is also 6% cleaner than current requirements, says the manufacturer, and boasts a full-colour instrument cluster flanked by traditional gauges for the driver, whose cab Prevost says has been redesigned with utmost focus on ergonomics and adjustability.

For passengers, a redesigned curved entrance stairway is flanked by an updated handrail and brighter lighting, whilst a 13% wider access door on the driver’s side makes driver access easier. The revamped model offers 460 cubic feet (13,026 litres) of underfloor luggage capacity and weighs in at 17,940kg.

It uses a Volvo-designed D13 engine producing 435 horsepower, driving as standard through a six-speed Allison torque-converter unit. Prevost also offers e-mirrors, along with on-board WiFi and a quieter HVAC system.
