Following on from the recent report of the rebrand of Ikarus, it has been revealed that Ikarus buses will also be produced in Azerbaijan in the future. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Azerbaijan’s Sumgait Technologies Park to cooperate in the installation and operation of an Ikarus bus factory in the country and the creation of a service centre in the Karabakh region. Planned initial annual production of 100 vehicles is expected to increase to 500 within three years, meeting the needs of both the Azeri and export markets.
