Ensignbus is well known for the repatriation of UK-manufactured buses from around the globe, and whilst many have been special, this particular story is about the last one to happen whilst the company was still in independent ownership. Richard Sharman looks into the history of the ‘KMB StreetDeck’

The Wrightbus StreetDeck is no stranger to the pages of CBW, I have road tested the standard Daimler OM934-engined example with Oxford Bus Company and the – until now – one off OM936-engined example ordered new by Go North East. Jonathan Welch has also recently test driven the StreetDeck Electroliner with Abellio London, and before that its hydrogen-fuelled cousin.

The internal combustion engined (ICE) examples have been in production since January 2015 and received strong orders from many group companies, with the latest deliveries being to First Bus-owned Somerset Passenger Solutions.
