Based in Stockport, Supportability has been supporting children, young people and adults with a wide range of complex physical and learning disabilities since 1953 and aims to enable those with disability to live a fulfilled and independent life. The charity provides quality support services that enable those with complex physical and/or learning disabilities to access and use their inherent capabilities and enables those with disability to enjoy and take part in everyday life experiences, for which transport is essential. A new addition to its fleet is a 17 seat Ford Transit minibus with automatic gearbox. An electrically operated side step for walk-on passengers is combined with additional handrails to assist those with reduced mobility. Wheelchair access is provided at the rear via a PLS Access underfloor tail lift. The minibus was manufactured by FordPro convertor Minibus Options in Whaley Bridge.
