6,794 people flocked to Lothian’s Annandale Street Central Garage on Saturday 23 September for its Open Doors Open Day, making a triumphant return for the first time since 2019. Visitors were able to find out about Lothian, inspect current and vintage buses and participate in a range of activities including trips through the bus wash and having their photos taken beside buses with their names displayed on the destination screens.

Following the announcement earlier in the week of an order for 50 MCV-bodied Volvo BZL electric buses, the star attraction at the event was the demonstrator vehicle that Lothian trialled earlier this year. Domenico Bondi, Managing Director of Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, and members of the Volvo team were on hand to answer any questions.
