The Scottish road transport industry is to hold a second Scottish Transaid Dinner, which will take place on the evening of 12 September 2024 at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa near Grangemouth. It follows the inaugural dinner in September 2022 which was attended by more than 200 people and raised over £100,000 for the international development charity – marking the largest sum of money ever collected for Transaid on a single night, through ticket sales, sponsorships and a charity auction.
Lynsey Craik, Business Support Manager at John Mitchell Haulage & Warehousing, is again leading the organisation of the event, with support from Nicola Robertson, Corporate Events Manager at Malcolm Group. Lynsey says: “We were so grateful to everyone who supported our first event, and we’re hoping this year’s dinner will be even bigger and better.”
Joan Aitken, former Scottish Traffic Commissioner, and now Chair of Transaid, added: “The first Scottish Transaid dinner demonstrated a phenomenal show of support towards those in sub-Saharan Africa who do not have the benefits of safe, available, and sustainable transport. Lynsey and Nicola set the bar incredibly high in 2022, and we are so grateful they are doing this for Transaid again.”
Lynsey can be contacted via [email protected], and tickets are priced at £100 each, with tables of 10 available.
