Proctors, now part of East Yorkshire Buses, has taken delivery of two Mellor Strata Ultra minibuses for rural services in North Yorkshire

Procters Coaches, a subsidiary of the Go Ahead Group as part of East Yorkshire Buses, has acquired its first two Mellor Strata Ultra buses. The Strata Ultra boasts a high fuel efficiency and compact size. The operator says the buses will be ideal for rural routes around Ripon, Knaresborough, Harrogate, York, Helmsley, and Thornton-le-Dale.

The new additions to its fleet have a passenger capacity of 29 and come equipped with Kiel Ligero seats with seat belts, Mobitech destination equipment, an Eberspacher heater, and USB sockets for passenger convenience.

Proctors said the decision to integrate the Strata Ultra into its fleet stems from the bus’ excellent fuel consumption and its nimble size, making it ideal for navigating rural routes, alongside a positive relationship with Mellor’s sales teams.

Head of Engineering at East Yorkshire Buses Andy Benstead commented: “We are excited to introduce the Mellor Strata Ultra into our fleet. Its fuel efficiency, appropriate size for rural areas, and excellent support from the Mellor sales team made it an easy choice. We are confident these buses will enhance the travel experience for our passengers on rural routes.”
