Coach Hire Comparison (CHC) is supporting charitable initiatives in the north of the UK by providing free transport services. As part of the Leeds Children’s Hospital’s Summer Programme, CHC, in collaboration with its coach operator partner A&A Coach Travel, provided transport free of charge for a trip to Scarborough on an outing which offered young people with long-term health conditions and their families an opportunity to visit the coast.
Youth Worker at St. James’ University Hospital in Leeds Darren Meade said: “For many patients, the trip to Scarborough was their only chance to visit the coast this year. These young people, aged 14 to 25, live with complex and chronic conditions and experiences such as these offer a rare sense of normality and connection with peers facing similar challenges.
“We’re extremely grateful for the donation of an entire transport package. Thanks to this, we can use saved funds to create more invaluable experiences that enhance our patients’ well-being. Outings such as these are essential to the wrap-around care we strive to provide.”
Director of A&A Coach Travel Antoni LaPulisa added: “When we found out about these trips, and how much it would mean to the hospital and of course the children, we decided to provide the coach service free of charge. It was our pleasure to transport the group safely and efficiently on the day. The sun shone and a great time was had by all, including our driver who thoroughly enjoyed working with the group.”
Head of CHC Matt Hanson commented: “These events are more than just about transport; they’re about creating positive experiences and lasting memories for those involved, while fostering community support, well-being and inclusivity. I had a great time accompanying the trip and we look forward to supporting similar initiatives in future.”
Other charitable initiatives by the company include assisting the Diversity Foundation’s charity bike ride, which raised funds for mental health outreach in Uganda, by providing return transport for 10 participants from Manchester to Blackpool, and CHC also partnered with Yelloway Coaches to transport the Lancashire Schools FA Under 16s team to the English Schools Football Association Finals Day, where all three Lancashire teams emerged victorious.
