NETHERLANDS
Solaris has taken what it describes as a ‘huge order’ from Transdev in the Netherlands to supply 96 electric buses for services in the province of Utrecht. The order was placed earlier this year, says Solaris, and deliveries are scheduled for the last quarter of 2025.
The fleet of battery-powered buses will serve routes in the province of Utrecht in the central Netherlands and form part of the company’s strategy to replace the entire fleet in Utrecht with zero-emission vehicles. Currently, the city operates 50 bus routes, serving around 30 million passengers annually.
Transdev Nederland is already familiar with Solaris products, as its Connexxion subsidiary operates a fleet of 20 Urbino 12 hydrogen buses in South Holland, whilst Solaris’ Trollino 18 trolleybuses have been operating in Arnhem for several months.
