Bus drivers from Go-Ahead Group’s Go North East embraced the Halloween spirit with a visit to one of the region’s most haunted castles, Lumley Castle near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, for a special photoshoot. Known for its tales of paranormal activity, the castle didn’t deter six of the firm’s intrepid drivers, who bravely swapped their uniforms for ghostly makeovers in preparation for the operator’s Halloween celebrations.

On 31 October, passengers could expect a ‘frightful treat’ with drivers dressed for the occasion in their favourite costumes, along with six special Halloween-themed buses in service across the operator’s network. Lorraine Petch, a bus driver from Go North East’s Deptford depot in Sunderland, said: “Wearing fancy dress is a great opportunity for us to join in the fun and put a smile on our passengers’ faces.”
