CitySwift’s software will be rolled out across Go-Ahead’s operating divisions over the next 12 months
The Go-Ahead Group has partnered with CitySwift to make its timetables more efficient and maximise service reliability. CitySwift’s platform will provide Go-Ahead’s operating companies with insights which allow it to maximise its network reliability and punctuality, for an improved customer experience.
Go-Ahead says that it has already successfully utilised CitySwift in its East Yorkshire Buses, Oxford Bus Company, and Go North East operations, which reported an improved service punctuality of up to 14%, a 4% increase in customer journeys, and increased scheduler productivity.
CitySwift will now be rolled out on a phased basis across the remainder of its operations, starting with Go North West and Kent Fastrack in late 2024 and followed by its other regional bus operating companies by 1 January 2025, with Go-Ahead London expected to be onboarded in February 2025 and Go-Ahead Ireland later in the year.
Chief executive at Go-Ahead Bus Matt Carney said: “Care for our customer and care for our community are two of our values at Go-Ahead. We recognise that buses are an essential service for many of our customers and communities, so continually improving these services is vitally important to us. We are committed to continuously improving service reliability and punctuality for the tens of millions of customers who use our services across the country. Using the CitySwift AI-powered platform to optimise our schedules and timetables will help us achieve this.”
CCO and co-founder of CitySwift Alan Farrelly added: “Our mission is to make public transport the travel mode of choice for citizens across the UK and beyond. This partnership with Go-Ahead Group marks a milestone in our journey as we continue to build the smart cities of the future. We have worked with Go-Ahead Group since 2020, seeing tangible results across the companies who implemented our technology in achieving more efficient, faster, and reliable bus services. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to take this further, and have our platform deployed across all companies in the Go-Ahead Group in the UK.”
