The specialist coach and bus supplier offered its support to ensure that the school’s daily programme could continue
Specialist coach and bus supplier Dawsongroup has stepped in to help after a school minibus was stolen from the grounds of Caroline Haslett Primary School in Milton Keynes. The school said the minibus was an essential resource in transporting its children to education, extracurricular and sporting activities, and its loss would cause significant disruption, as well as additional foreseen expense.
Photos posted by the school showed that the minibus was later located but had been burnt out beyond repair. A spokesperson from the school said: ‘’Whilst the vehicle was insured and we are hopeful for a quick resolution from the insurance company, the anticipated pay out will fall short of the cost of a replacement minibus. We are asking the wider community to donate anything they are able to afford, no amount is too small as every penny with help.’’
Dawsongroup said it was proud to have been able to assist the school with its travel needs following the theft and destruction of its school transport. “We quickly contacted the school to offer our help by supplying them with a new vehicle until a suitable replacement was arranged,” the company said. “ We understand the importance of reliable transportation for students, and we know this vehicle will continue providing seamless journeys during the festive period.”
The school commented: “We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dawsongroup Bus & Coach for its incredibly generous loan of a minibus to support our recent activities. They have loaned us one of their minibuses for the remainder of the term. This generous gesture made a significant difference, allowing us to enrich the provision for our children, enable our Swimming Squad to achieve Silver medals at the Gala, and ensure accessibility to all aspects of the National Curriculum.
“The minibus was not just a vehicle; it became a symbol of unity and collaboration, enabling us to bring people together and achieve our goals. On behalf of everyone at CHPS, and the many children who benefited from this support, we extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to Dawsongroup. Their generosity and dedication to the community are deeply appreciated.”
