South West operator Summercourt Travel has entered liquidation with reported debts of almost £1m. The family-run taxi and coach hire company was declared insolvent shortly before Christmas, entering creditors’ voluntary liquidation on 18 December 2024. At the same time, Kim Richards and Richard Tonks of Walsall-based BK Plus were appointed as joint liquidators. Records show that among the £908,000 owed to creditors was around £29,000 owed to HMRC, and a directors’ loan of £280,000.
Company directors Robert and Sam Ryder and company secretary Sharon Ryder are also listed in connection with both Merlin Vehicle Rental and Travel Cornwall, both of which are continuing to operate as normal and which share an address with Summercourt. Summercourt Travel’s webpage has been redirected to that of Travel Cornwall.
