The well-known Lincolnshire operator is continuing to add to its Alexander Dennis fleet, with more Enviro400 double-deckers

Delaine Buses has placed a third new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-decker into service, and ordered a further example of the type. The new Enviro400 is the ninth consecutive new Alexander Dennis bus for the respected family business. Continuing the operator’s tradition of placing new buses into service on the first day of a new registration period, it entered service on 1 March and follows six Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single-deckers placed into service between September 2020 and March 2023, and two similar Enviro400 double-deck buses introduced on 1 September of both 2023 and 2024. A fourth Enviro400 is on order.

The Delaine Enviro400s are built to a length of 10.5m, styled with the manufacturer’s ‘City’ body design and finished to the operator’s
well-know traditional specification including a two-tone blue livery with cream relief, wood veneer panelling and a classic bespoke red tartan moquette for the 77 passenger seats.

Managing Director Anthony Delaine-Smith said: “The Enviro400 and Enviro200 have proven to be great choices for us, allowing us to standardise on modern vehicles that we can customise to meet our fleet requirements. They are dependable, easy to maintain and operate, and popular with our drivers and customers.”

Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis Martin Dunleavy added: “It is an honour to be chosen to supply buses to one of the most recognisable independent operators in the country, and to tailor them to respect and continue the Delaine heritage. We highly value and appreciate the business and look forward to continuing to work with Anthony and the Delaine-Smith family.”
