West Yorkshire based Camira Fabrics, a long-serving supplier to the transport industry, recently hosted a visit from Prime Minister Keir Starmer and West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin at its Meltham manufacturing facility.
The Prime Minister used the opportunity to speak about upgrades to rail services in the North of England, including the area around where Camira is based; as well as supplying the bus and coach industry, Camira is also a major supplier to train operators. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Camira CEO Alan Williams, Director of Supply Chain James Penn and Supply Chain Coordinator Shardae Hamilton.
“We were very grateful to the Prime Minister, the Mayor of West Yorkshire and our local MPs for visiting our plant. It was fantastic to introduce them to many of our key staff members who are vital to the success of our business. This investment will be crucial for businesses across the North that rely on transport services to get to work. Camira has long been a supplier of fabrics for the transport sector, so we are particularly pleased to hear about the major investment planned for this region,” said Alan.
