
SWEDEN Volvo Buses has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GB Auto, a Middle Eastern and African automotive company, to strengthen the collaboration on the export of Volvo buses and coaches to the region. Volvo says the agreement marks a step towards more sustainable industrial practices, with a shared focus on expanding capacity and export, investment in industrial technology and employment opportunities.
GB Auto, which has exported Volvo buses to countries including Jordan, Oman, Iraq, Cameroon and Senegal since 1998, is upgrading its Ain Sokhna bus facility, with Volvo Buses providing expertise to improve production, quality, and sustainability. “This partnership is about expanding our reach and doing so responsibly. It involves integrating a sustainability perspective at every stage of the value chain,” said Volvo Buses Senior Vice President, Business Unit Chassis, Dan Pettersson. “By working together with GB Auto, we are taking strategic action to further enhance the production processes and grow exports across the Middle East and Africa.”
