TURKEY Temsa has unveiled the new generation of its Prestij midibus, which has sold around 20,000 examples since its launch in 1992. Last refreshed in 2016, Temsa says the relaunch reflects its commitment to combining technological innovation, operational efficiency, and top-tier safety in a compact form. Speaking at the launch event, Temsa CEO Evren Güzel emphasised the strategic role Prestj plays in the company’s portfolio: “Prestij has always been more than just a vehicle for us. It’s a part of the Temsa legacy – a pioneer that opened doors in the midibus market more than three decades ago. With nearly 20,000 units produced, it reflects our deep-rooted expertise in this segment. Today, the new Prestij stands as a flagship of our future vision, bringing modern design, efficiency, and cutting-edge safety features together.”

The redesigned Prestij features a three-litre engine and is equipped with a range of advanced safety technologies which Temsa says go above and beyond the regulatory requirements and which include an advanced emergency braking system, blind spot information system, Intelligent Speed Assistance, and driver drowsiness and attention monitoring, ensuring a high level of protection for both drivers and passengers. The midibus also now has a refined front and rear end, and offers a range of new colour options such as deep blue and smoky grey trims which Temsa says give it a sleek, contemporary look, backed up by its new digitally enhanced driver’s area, configuarble in 29 language options to cater for its increasingly global customer base. “This vehicle embodies the future direction of our entire product line,” said Evren. “Prestij is not just making a comeback – it’s setting the standard for the next generation of midibuses in terms of design, functionality, and user experience. We view this model as a key catalyst in accelerating Tensa’s growth across Europe and other international markets.”

The new Prestij will make its public debut at Busworld Europe in October.
