FlixBus has announced a new partnership with the Government of Rajasthan’s Department of Tourism, designed to introduce the Indian state’s culture and heritage to its UK passengers, as well as promote its expanding network in the country. As part of the initiative, FlixBus has unveiled a custom-branded coach which showcases the rich and colourful tourism landscape of Rajasthan. The collaboration was launched at a ceremonial flag-off event in London on 11 August, attended by First Secretary (Trade, Tourism & OCI) at the High Commission of India to the United Kingdom Rakesh Dahiya, Senior Managing Director of FlixBus UK Andreas Schorling and Managing Director of FlixBus India Surya Khurana.
The branded coach will be seen on FlixBus services between London and Cambridge. Speaking at the event, the First Secretary said: “On behalf of the High Commission of India, London, I would like to congratulate both FlixBus and Rajasthan’s Department of Tourism, for the launch of this visionary and very memorable initiative.
“The flag-off of this heritage-themed FlixBus service is not only a promotional event, it is a celebration of Rajasthan’s rich culture and rich heritage. The linkage of a QR code to the Department of Tourism’s website is a brilliant touch, blending tradition and technology. Let the wheels roll and let Rajasthan’s story travel far and wide in the UK.”
Managing Director of FlixBus India Surya Khurana added: “We have been working closely with the Rajasthan government since the visit of Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Ms Diya Kumari, Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan to FlixBus HQ in Munich last year. This partnership is a testament to FlixBus India’s commitment to making Rajasthan’s artistic and historic legacy accessible to travellers from near and far.”
