Hartlepool Borough Council has added to its fleet with new Mellor Strata HFs. HARTLEPOOL BOROUGH COUNCIL

Hartlepool Borough Council has once again returned to Rochdale-based Mellor for its latest intake, adding six new Mercedes-Benz Strata HF vehicles to its all-Mellor fleet for community transport services.

The new Strata HF vehicles are each capable of accommodating either 16 passengers or seven wheelchair users, and have been specifically configured to meet Hartlepool’s transport requirements. Each vehicle features a Mercedes-Benz chassis with automatic transmission for enhanced reliability and ease of operation, complemented by a single passenger entrance for improved accessibility. A underfloor tail lift is fitted, and climate control ensures passenger comfort, whilst interior flexibility is maximised through detachable seats.

The vehicles will serve multiple essential functions across Hartlepool, including home-to-school transport, adult services, and community transport. The Council says it chose Mellor again due to the proven reliability of the Mercedes-Benz platform, the size of the vehicle and its flexibility which make it the ideal choice.

Head of Transport Services at Hartlepool Borough Council Jordan Stewart said: “We had good service from initial contact with Mellor’s experienced Area Sales Manager advising on the portfolio of vehicles available, including arranging the tailift demonstrations. The order was processed quickly and efficiently during pre-build meetings, with good communication throughout, and delivery surpassing our expectations.”
