First Bus customers in Halifax are now benefitting from a new initiative called ‘Zest’ delivering free WiFi and improved bus interiors.
The new ‘Zest’ brand has been officially launched by Halifax MP Holly Lynch on 11 buses operating on route 503, providing over 40,000 customer journeys a week on frequent, double-deckers between Halifax & Huddersfield via Calderdale Royal Hospital.
The ‘Zest’ improvement package for customers includes a distinctive colourful new livery.
As part of the new travelling experience, the original seating has been replaced with new environmentally-sourced leather material and each bus has been fitted out with free WiFi. If popular with customers, First will consider transforming more services to the ‘Zest’ standard.
First has invested over £4,000 per bus in the new initiative.
MP for Halifax, Holly Lynch, said: “This move by First Bus is great news for customers.
“Improvements like this encourage more people to take the bus which helps reduce the use of cars, ease congestion on local roads and improve air quality.”
Dave Randle, Operations Manager for First Bus in Halifax, said: “We’re delighted to introduce this exciting new ‘Zest’ initiative for customers that refreshes the travelling experience with the convenience of free WiFi and the comfort of the new seats.”
