Bavarian operator takes delivery of 75th Neoplan after buying the brand for 40 years
Having bought Neoplan for 40 years, Straubing-based Biendl Reisen GmbH, which operates 23 Neoplans out of a fleet of 25, has taken deliver of its 75th Neoplan coach, a Skyliner double-decker. At the handover was Richard Gsottberger Sr. from Biendl Reisen who purchased his first Neoplan, a Jetliner, in 1976. Neoplan has been part of MAN Truck & Bus since 2001.
“Over the years, we have always been satisfied with NEOPLAN buses,” said Richard. “Given all this, why would we want to go for anything else? Furthermore, we have a very good service station close to us. This means we are perfectly catered for by MAN and NEOPLAN in every respect.”
Among other features on the Skyliner, there are power outlets at several seats enabling the convenient use of electronic devices. Safety features include the anti-lock braking system ABS, the anti-slip regulation ASR and the electronic brake system EBS, as well as an electronic brake pad wear indicator. Electronically controlled MAN CDS (ComfortDriveSuspension) shock absorbers are designed to provide exceptional comfort and thanks to its 505hp (371kW) six-cylinder Euro 6 D2676 diesel engine, plenty of power is available says the manufacturer.
As well as the Skyliner, Richard Gsottberger Jr. and Sr. also took delivery of a Neoplan Cityliner from salesman Edgar Binder who has managed the company’s account from the beginning. Both vehicles are being used on the firm’s excursion work and transporting BMW employees between Munich and Dingolfing. Biendl Reisen also provides transport services to sports clubs such as ice hockey team, Straubing Tigers.
