With the assistance of Andrew Jones MP, North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and Transdev have unveiled the Little Explorers brand.

The services under the Little Explorers name will connect Harrogate to York, with the yellow vehicles calling at Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Ripon and the surrounding villages.

The service is supported by NYCC, and will link two of North Yorkshire’s most popular cathedral cities and the spa town of Harrogate with local communities.

Alex Hornby, CEO for Transdev Blazefield, said: “We want to do all we can to instil a new lease of life into rural bus services.

“Too often they’re overlooked, and we believe that brands such as Little Explorers can make a difference. By working together with local authorities and packaging services in a distinct, vibrant and memorable way, we can make these routes and services an attractive proposition for customers.

“We’re hopeful that Little Explorers will set the scene for a fresh take on how communities perceive these services, and help to lead the way in changing the face of rural transport.”

Andrew Jones MP commented: “I am pleased to see Transdev and NYCC coming together to reinvigorate the service and help to improve vital sustainable transport links across our county, particularly for those in the rural areas.

“For some time now we have seen rural bus services either on the back foot or withdrawn but this improved service provides new hope that the trend will reverse.”
