Yorkshire Tiger, part of Arriva Yorkshire, has retained the contract to run the Leeds Bradford Airport service.
Following a very competitive tender process, Yorkshire Tiger was awarded the contract to get passengers to the airports for the next three years.
Simon Finnie, Managing Director, said: “We are clearly delighted to retain this service.
“We have established close links with the airport which has led to passengers getting great value and reliable bus services to the airport.”
The 737 and 747 services connect Bradford and Harrogate to Leeds Bradford Airport, while the 757 service provides the direct links from Leeds. Return travel to the airport is priced from £5.00
As part of the new contract, Yorkshire Tiger will be upgrading the fleet to include newer vehicles which will include WiFi, real-time information, audio/visual announcements, luggage space and a team of dedicated drivers.
Simon added: “We are also going to work closely with key stakeholders to improve services that connect with the rail network in a move to create a ‘plane to train’ service. This ensures increased accessibility to Leeds Bradford Airport via Public Transport.”
A spokesperson from Leeds Bradford Airport said: “Yorkshire Tiger’s bid was incredibly strong and we are looking forward to seeing their plans as part of the tender process come to life.”
The new vehicles and enhancements are expected to be rolled out in early 2017.
