Arriva North East has unveiled a specially-designed ‘Poppy Bus’ to mark Remembrance Day 2016.
The ‘Poppy Bus’ will be running until Sunday, November 13, along Arriva’s popular X10/11 route, which serves Blyth, Cramlington and Newcastle.
The bespoke livery, supplied by Exterion Media, features giant poppies and dedicated artwork supporting the British Legion emblazed on the outside and the inside of the bus. Poppies are available to customers on board.
As well as the specially created ‘Poppy Bus’, each vehicle on the X10/11 route will be displaying giant Poppy’s to further raise awareness for the cause.
Danielle Neighbour, Community Fundraising Manager for the Royal British Legion, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Arriva for their support of this year’s Poppy Appeal and for supporting Leeds Poppy Day.
“The Royal British Legion’s vital work is entirely dependent on the public’s generous support to help anyone who is currently serving in the British Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. The Legion uses your donations to support in so many ways including providing crisis grants, offering the children of Armed Forces personnel adventure breaks, researching the impact of blast injuries on the body, lobbying the government on key issues, and advising on benefits and money problems.”
Nick Knox, Area Managing Director for Arriva North East said: “We are proud to be supporting the Royal British Legion and helping to commemorate the fallen. We would like to encourage our customers to hop on board the X10/11 Poppy Bus and support this great cause.”
Les Gaul, National Franchise Manager from Exterion Media said: “Everyone at Exterion is pleased to be supporting Arriva’s X10/11 Poppy Bus. We hope the dedicated artwork we have supplied will further increase awareness for the charity.”
