Arriva Yorkshire announced that 13 new environmentally friendly ADL Enviro400MMC buses went into service on July 17, as part of an £8m investment. The buses on the current 254/255 route will all be replaced with new state-of-the-art buses carrying Arriva’s new livery and offering free WiFi, USB sockets and E-Leather seating.
Arriva Yorkshire celebrated the official launch of its 13 brand new buses at Heckmondwike depot on July 20, which went into service on July 17. The event was held at Whitcliffe Mount School which showcased two new buses, included a bird of prey demonstration and free goody bags for the whole school.
Year 8 student Cameron McLaughlin, who is a keen bus enthusiast, recited a poem to his fellow classmates which he wrote about his experience on Arriva’s 254/255 buses. Cameron was presented with his very own certificate and gift vouchers as a thank you. His poem is now on all Arriva 254/255 buses for all to enjoy.

The school was delighted that Year 8 student Cameron McLaughlin was presented with a certificate and rewards for the publication of his poem about Arriva buses and that this is being displayed on the buses. The school wish to thank Arriva for everything.”
