Long-established Lincolnshire independent operator Delaine Buses is holding a heritage bus running day on Saturday, September 30.
Heritage buses will run between Bourne (Delaine depot) and Stamford (bus station) every 30 mins from 0920 until 1620hrs. They will depart Stamford half-hourly from 1000 until‐ 1700hrs.
A Heritage Day Rover ticket will cost £6, valid on all Delaine services. Accompanied under 12s can travel free on the heritage service (maximum two per fare‐paying passenger) – but the ENCTS card is not valid on those journeys.
Vehicles due to operate on the heritage journeys include members of the Delaine Heritage Fleet: ‘KTL780’ (no.45) 1956 Leyland PD2/20 / Willowbrook; ‘RCT3’ (no.50) 1960 Leyland PD3/1 / Yeates; ‘ACT540L’ (no.72) 1973 Leyland Atlantean AN68/2R / Northern Counties; and M1 OCT (no.116) 1995 Volvo Olympian / East Lancashire. Making a welcome return to the road in time for its 30th anniversary will be ‘E100AFW’ (no.100) ‐1987 Leyland Tiger / Duple 300.
Free heritage tours will operate along the 301 route to Rippingale, departing from Delaine’s depot at 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400 and 1500hrs, featuring former Delaine ‘DTL489D’ (no.60), a 1966 Atlantean PDR1/2 / Willowbrook.

A small gathering of visiting vehicles will be held at the depot, details of which are expected to be confirmed nearer the time.
The event itself is being organised by the Delaine Heritage Trust, the charitable incorporated body, which is charged with celebrating the heritage and history of the company, Delaine Buses MD and Delaine Heritage Trust Chairman Anthony Delaine-Smith told CBW: “The event will be the first time all seven preserved Delaine buses that were new to us will be together at the same time. We also look forward to welcoming visitors to see the progress we’re making at our museum. Refreshments and light snacks will be available too.”
