Tim Roberts has worked in the bus and coach industry for more than half a century and he’s been driving buses and coaches for almost as long – 45 years. “All told, it’s 52 years, which is a long time,” he pointed out. “What I actually wanted to do when I was at school was get a job working on the railway, but the careers advisor said there was no future in that. Before I left school, Kettering’s engine shed was closed and the staff train that used to run from Kettering to Wellingborough where the shed was still open was discontinued.
