Maynes Coaches of Buckie, Scotland, has placed firm orders with EVM and BASE Coach Sales as part of its planned expansion programme.

Three new Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based Avantgardes will be provided by EVM – two of which are 22-seaters and the other a 16-seater.

The 16-seater mini coach will be built to a higher specification, including wood-effect floors, air conditioning, power doors and USB ports; it also has a larger drop well boot.

Meanwhile, the operator has ordered four 74-seater MAN MOBIpeople Explorer coaches from BASE Coach Sales.

The coaches will have a dual certification, meaning they can be easily altered between 57 seats and 74 depending on the operator’s needs.

Dual power doors will be fitted to the Explorers, as will in-coach entertainment and an air-conditioning system.

The company has also embarked on a refurbishment programme to update some of its school fleet.
