A 1939 Leyland Lion still owned by the family which operated the vehicle is set to be restored in time for its 80th birthday.
Although new to Eastbourne Corporation as JK 8421, the bus was requisitioned when almost new and after war service was registered LMG184, entering the fleet of Canham’s of Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire.
This firm ceased trading in 1983 but the Lion, which was in regular use on Canham’s Whittlesey to Peterborough route for some 30 years and has Leyland bodywork, was retained. […]
