OLA is looking to the UK market for further expansion in the ride-hailing app market

Founded in 2011 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, OLA is an Indian ride-hailing application that is currently operating in 110 cities across India and Australia.

It is now seeking further expansion in the United Kingdom, where operations have commenced in Cardiff, Swansea and the Vale of Glamorgan, advertising rides from £2.50.

OLA is also offering the hire of both ‘Prime Sedan’ (OLA terminology for private hire vehicle) or traditional metered taxis, including larger transit-sized minibuses.

The OLA app includes live vehicle tracking, from which passengers can also share their location with family or friends and in case of emergency an SOS button is also designed into the app.

Manchester is the next location where the company expects to launch in the near future.

OLA is offering 50% off new customer’s first five rides in the South Wales area.
