Stagecoach North Scotland has invested £3.5m in 15 brand-new ADL Enviro400 hybrid double-deckers.
Unveiled at an official launch event at Duff House, Banff, the new buses were showcased alongside one of the Plaxton coaches they will be replacing on route 35.
According to the operator, the Enviro400s will offer 45% more capacity for passengers travelling on the service, and upper-deck passengers will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Moray Coast thanks to glass panels in the roof.
Meanwhile, wheelchair users will find it easier to use the service than previously, thanks to the buses’ low-floor design.
Inside, the buses are kitted out with seatbelted leather seats, free WiFi, USB charging points and contactless payment facilities.
David Liston, Managing Director, Stagecoach North Scotland said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be introducing even more new buses for the communities in Aberdeenshire and Moray.
“We know that service 35 is a vital service for the communities we connect and our new fleet will not only reduce the impact on the environment but they will also allow us to improve our punctuality for customers.
“We will look forward to welcoming everyone on board in April.”
