Nigel joins the newly-formed Manchester operation from Arriva, where he led the North East, Yorkshire and Yorkshire Tiger bus operations over the past decade.

David Brown, Chief Executive of the Go-Ahead Group, said: ”We are delighted to welcome Nigel to the business with the regional expertise and customer focus that he brings.

“Go-North West is a significant growth opportunity for Go-Ahead and I am confident that Nigel will bring invaluable and inspiring leadership to the team in Manchester.”

Nigel added: ”The North West is going to be one of the most dynamic theatres of public transport evolution in the next few years, and to be in at the ground floor with Go-Ahead is the sort of opportunity that is too good to turn down.

“I can’t wait to start working with the team and our stakeholders.”

The North West division of Go-Ahead went live on 2 June following the £11.2m acquisition of the former First Bus Queens Road depot – serving Oldham and Bolton – and its 160 vehicles.
