Solaris Bus & Coach SA has signed an agreement for the supply of 300 buses worth 117 million Euros.

The first 50 of the InterUrbino buses will be delivered in 2019, and used on routes connecting the towns of Rome Province and the whole of the Lazio region.

Since the first Solaris buses were delivered in 2016, they have clocked up over 300,000km, and it was this reliability that led to further orders, said Alberto Fiore, Solaris Italia Managing Director.

The buses, with a capacity of 55 seats and a further 12 standees, will be powered by Euro VI DAF MX-11 engines giving a power output of 251kW.

They will have electrically-operated underfloor luggage holds, along with racks above the seats, as well as CCTV systems, a passenger announcement system and equipment to automatically count passengers.

Driver safety aids will include MobilEye and a lane departure warning system.

The InterUrbino has been a success for Solaris in Italy, with over 400 of the type sold in the country already, in addition to a further 600 of the company’s other models.
