The results of tender rounds for four London bus routes have been announced, with Abellio West London winning three.
It will be the first to operate the new Heathrow Central to Ruislip 278 route when it begins on 7 December, and intends to use 10 existing double-deckers on the service, details of which are still to be confirmed.
It has also secured routes 285 and 427. 24-hour route 285 is currently operated by London United, but will be taken over by Abellio West London on 27 June 2020.
It has a PVR of 15, with new Euro VI hybrid double-deckers expected to be used.
Abellio already operates route 427, but has renewed its contract to operate the service from 11 April next year. The route’s PVR is still labelled as to be confirmed, although 2017 Euro VI hybrid double-deckers will be used.
Meanwhile, Tower Transit has won the contract to operate another new route, the 218. Running from Hammersmith to North Acton, this will also begin on 7 December.
11 used single-deckers will be operated on the route, with precise details to be confirmed at a later date.
