Deutsche Bahn’s Arriva unit has attracted the attention of a wide selection of buyout firms, including Lone Star Funds, Apollo Global Management LLC and Carlyle Group LP, who made offers prior to the final deadline on Thursday 22 August.

It has been said that the unit could be sold for around €3.5-4bn, and interest from Go-Ahead Group Plc, Stagecoach Group Plc and Transdev Group has been put forward, who have each submitted bids for part of the operator, Bloomberg reported.
