With a growing presence in the Netherlands, EBS won the concession to provide public bus transport for the Haaglanden area (its third concession in the country and expiring on 14 December 2030), which includes Delft and Zoetermeer city services, taking over from previous holder Connexxion on Sunday 25 August. A brand-new fleet comprising 93 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Hybrid-Biogas buses (10 of which are articulated) and 23 VDL electric buses is being introduced. On the first day of operations John Robinson captured Citaros 5149 and 5145 crossing in Oude Delft working service 62. The use of Citaros on this route, the only one passing through the historic centre of Delft, was very short-lived as two days later the first VDLs arrived in the city, whose smaller and narrower dimensions make them more suitable. Thus, in the space of four days the service had been operated by diesel, bio-gas and electric buses.
