Coast to Coast Travel’s owner, Terry Erskine, came down to Pelican Bus & Coach in Castleford from the west coast of Scotland to collect his new TC9 from its showroom.
Coast to Coast Travel began life as Ardrossan Mini Coaches, founded in 1999. In 2014 it changed its trading name to Coast to Coast Travel, to reflect the wide variety of coach hire and vehicles available.
Minibus asked Terry what made him decide to purchase the new Yutong TC9. He replied: “We were impressed overall with the style of the vehicle, the fuel consumption, and the competitive price. We cover some tours around the Highlands and islands of Scotland, and the coach is a perfect size for smaller groups and more suited to the twisty roads in rural parts of Scotland.”
The Yutong TC9, supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach, is fitted with wood effect flooring, 34 half-leather seats, a rear-mounted toilet, and USB charging points. Additionally, a full Bosch entertainment system with front 19′ motorised monitor, P.A. System with driver and courier microphones are fitted along with an integral reverse camera and a camera showing the rear door complete with an in-dash colour screen.
The vehicle is powered by a Cummins ISB 6.7 320hp Euro VI engine, driven through a ZF 6AP1200B AT Automatic EcoLife gearbox.
