If you attended the 47th Showbus event at the Hertfordshire Showground recently you will have seen the restored 2000 Plaxton Premiere Volvo B10M resplendent in Wallace Arnold’s livery that was being exhibited by Mark Atkinson. I didn’t go, which is a shame. However, I saw the photo of the coach in Wallace Arnold colours in the report of the event in this magazine (CBW1414) and it brought back a flood of memories from my time with the company at the turn of the century. The memories were sharpened by the fact that I probably drove Mark’s now restored coach during my time at the company’s Barton Hill Road depot in Torquay when I wasn’t driving Wallace Arnold’s open-topper.
