The Airport Xpress will be running on New Year’s Day when many other transport options will be at a standstill.

Xplore Dundee’s X90, which operates non-stop between Dundee city centre and Edinburgh Airport, is available to transport Dundonians to their holidays, friends, family or Hogmanay party and on into 2020. The coach will be the quickest public transport link with the capital during planned rail engineering works at Haymarket between 27 December and 1 January. Airport Xpress itself will be off the road for one day only, Christmas Day.

Xplore Dundee Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “With so many flights scheduled for the airport on New Year’s Day, it’s a no-brainer to keep operating our service during this busy time. We know lots of people will be keen to travel to visit friends and family abroad or in the Edinburgh area – and others will want to go shopping and partying during Hogmanay.

“With other public transport options running on limited timetables, the X90 is going to be the quickest and easiest way to avoid rail disruption during the engineering works and takes you right to the door of the terminal. It’s also really easy to get onward connections to Edinburgh city centre via bus and tram. If you haven’t tried the Airport Xpress yet, make it your New Year resolution!”

The Airport Xpress was launched in June 2019 and has carried more than 40,000 passengers in its first five months of operation. It’s been warmly welcomed by local people and is proving so popular that bookings are being taken right up to Christmas 2020.
