Horseman Coaches, which was awarded the UK Coach Operator of the Year 2019 at the UK Coach Awards, has introduced two new Plaxton Panther-bodied Volvo B8Rs to its Reading-based fleet and anticipates delivery of a further three Plaxton coaches before the end of the year, all of which will be 57-seat Leopards.
The five new vehicles join a 60-strong fleet operated by a family run business which says it is committed to continuous investment in modern, low emission vehicles and wide-ranging, on-going business improvements.
Company Director James Horseman commented: “Our new Panthers are both 12.8m 61-seat models with CCTV, wood effect flooring, DVD system, USB chargers, powered parallel lift lockers, real-time tracking and telematics. They have D8K engines and I-Shift transmissions, a combination which has proved to be a winner for us. Add to this the stylish interior and exterior finish and it’s easy to see why the Plaxton range is a market leader in the UK.”
He added: “All of our new coaches are ULEZ compliant, which is a critical factor as we do a lot of business in London and across the South of England. They also form part of our long-range investment in fleet modernisation and underpin our determination to remain at the forefront of the transport sector.
“Business success, of course, is dependent on many aspects, not least of all partnerships and in that respect our relationship with Plaxton is second to none, hence we have Cheetah XL, Leopard, Elite and Panther models in our fleet, having bought around 40 Scarborough-built vehicles in recent years.”
Horseman’s wide range of Plaxton coaches support an extensive product offering from the company covering private hires, corporate work, school contracts, special events, day trips, tours, airport transfer services for Heathrow, Luton, Stanstead and Gatwick, and holiday packages in the UK and Continental Europe.
